How Can I Save Money Shopping?

The answer to that really depends on your situation. If you have a large family that goes through "consumer goods" quickly, it would likely benefit you to join a bulk store club like Sam’s or Costco. It usually costs between $15 and $30 to join, but if you consider the amount you can save just in over the counter drugs and house staple supplies, it will be worth it.

If you have a smaller family, buying things in bulk may just take up too much room and leave you with outdated products that you couldn’t use fast enough. The answer for you may be as simple as buying store brands. It is often the case that purchasing store brands is cheaper than buying name brands, even when you apply coupons. So, cut those corners where you can.

If you are looking for things for your home, like furniture or accessories, go to a bargain store like BigLots. These stores generally buy warehouses of overproduced items and get them at a great deal. Then they can pass the savings along to you. Go to the expensive stores and get decorating ideas, then go to the cheaper stores to buy the same (or very similar) items and recreate the look on your own for much less money.
