What is a Library?
Dreamweaver libraries store elements, such as images and animations, that can be reused in multiple pages. If you update a library item, Dreamweaver automatically updates the item in all the pages that use it.
Creating Library Items
You can convert an element from an existing page to a library item:
- Open the Assets panel.
- Click the Library button on the left side of the Assets panel.

- In the document, select the item you want to add to the library.
- Click the New Library Item button at the bottom of the Assets panel.
The item appears in the library with the name Untitled. A preview is displayed in the top pane.
- Replace Untitled with a new name and press Enter.
Tip:
You can also drag and drop items directly from your page into the Assets panel.
