Planting a container garden is a very common solution for people who do not wish to install a permanent garden or who live in a place they can't create a garden in.

1. Choose the right container

Vegetables need space and need the right container to grow in. A window container is ideal of small vegetables and spices.

Otherwise, look for large containers, a barrel or a large wooden box.

Gardens need proper drainage and so your box should have drain holes and a tray at the bottom or drain holes for outside container gardens.

2. Choose the right soil

Choose high quality potting soil for your container garden. Garden soil can contain weeds, impurities, and not drain very well.

3. Fertilize

Use a water soluable fertilizer every couple of weeks to feed the plants as they grow.

4. Sunshine

Ensure your container garden gets plenty of sunshine and water. You can water when the soil is dry four inches down.

With these tips, you should be on your way to a successful container garden!
