How Do I Save Money on my Wireless Bill?

by Learnthat.com Staff on Wednesday, November 03, 2004

There are so many wireless plans on the market today, that it is possible to find the perfect one for you, regardless of your phone-use habits. Most plans limit the number of minutes you can use per month. If you have a plan that limits your daytime usage, be sure you are aware of that fact, and only use your phone in the evening hours. Nothing will make your bill skyrocket faster than “overage” minutes during peak talking times (daytime). If you find you consistenly go over your allowed minutes, bump up to the nextg plan level. It is better to pay $20 more a month for your plan than $50 a month in overage charges.

But the better thing to do is switch to a plan that has “anytime” minutes. Meaning, if you have 1000 minutes per month, you can use them anytime, not just at night. If you have friends, roommates, or family that you talk to daily (or hourly!), make sure to sign up for a plan that has unlimited phone-to-phone calling for your subscribed numbers. And, most plans have unlimited weekend minutes, so feel free to use the weekends to test your gab-fest stamina!
