Using Layout View
Dreamweaver also provides you with the option to lay out tables visually using Layout view:
- On the Insert bar, select the Layout category.

- Click the Layout button.
![]()
- If the Getting Started in Layout View dialog opens, click OK.
- On the Insert bar, click the Layout Table button.
- You can position the table in any open area of the page. When the pointer changes to a crosshair, click and drag to draw the table.
- If necessary, use the Property Inspector to specify the table's properties.

- Next, click the Draw Layout Cell button to add a cell to the table.
- Click and drag the mouse to draw a cell of any size inside the table.
- Continue to draw cells as needed.
Tip:
Hold down the Ctrl key as you draw your cells to keep the Draw Layout Cell button selected.
- You can reposition cells by dragging them around the table. You can also resize them by clicking and dragging the selection handles on the cell borders, as long as you don't attempt to drag one cell over another.
Cells cannot overlap; for this reason, when two cells are adjacent to each other, Dreamweaver does not allow you to resize them using their shared border. You can, however, use the Property Inspector to define a cell's width and height.

To return to Standard view, click the Standard View button on the Insert bar.
